Join Us & Let’s Get Our Hands Dirty

Hey there, folks! We’ve got some thrilling news to share with you; New Era Community Projects is embarking on an exciting allotment food-growing venture at Hook Road Allotments! Our goal is simple but oh-so-important; we want to involve families in growing their own healthy veggies, with a special focus on getting the kids excited about preparing meals and embracing sustainability.

Our Director, Bob, hard at work on our allotments.

Leading the charge is our fantastic director, Bob, who’s all fired up to make this project a smashing success. We’ve already made some fantastic progress in prepping the grounds and getting seedlings ready. Potatoes, asparagus, strawberries, and more are on the menu this year and beyond.

Engaging Families in Food Production

Picture this; families rolling up their sleeves and getting hands-on with growing their very own veggies. Not only will they get to take home a bounty of nutritious produce, completely free of charge, but we’ll also be teaching the kiddos valuable meal preparation skills and the importance of sustainable living. Talk about a win-win situation!

The Role of Our Awesome Volunteers

We want to give a round of applause to our incredible team of ground-prepping volunteers! They’re working tirelessly to get our allotment plots ready for action. From preparing the soil to prepping the seedlings, their hard work is setting the stage for a fruitful growing season. We’re buzzing with excitement, imagining the taste of homegrown potatoes, mouthwatering asparagus, juicy strawberries, and so much more. The enthusiasm is contagious, my friends!

Your Support Makes All the Difference

Now, here’s where you come in. We can’t do this without your help, and we’re counting on you! Here are three fantastic ways you can get involved:

  1. Share Your Wisdom: If you’ve got green thumbs and know a thing or two about growing food, we’d be over the moon if you could share your advice. Your expertise will help us fine-tune our gardening techniques and ensure we’re reaping the best possible harvest.
  2. Get Your Hands Dirty: Calling all gardening enthusiasts! If you’ve got a passion for planting and a knack for digging, weeding, planting, and picking, we’d love to have you on our team. Join us regularly to lend a hand, and let’s make this allotment flourish together.
  3. Seedling Superheroes: Do you have any spare seedlings lying around? We’d be absolutely thrilled to give them a loving home! Your generous donation will help us maximise our growth potential and yield a bumper crop.
